About Arattupuzha Sastha Temple
The famous Sree Sastha temple is situated at Arattupuzha, a beautiful, quiet village located 15km away from Thrissur town. The road that leads to this temple is 2km towards east from Thevar Road Stop in Thrissur Kodungallur route. The antiquity of this temple dates back to 3000 years and the temple hosts the most ancient and the world's second oldest festival "Devamela" (Festival when all gods and goddesses assemble) at Arattupuzha.

The diety sits in a serene posture, with an "Amrutha Kalasa" in his right hand resting on the right knee. It is believed that the diety of Arattupuzha temple is the embodiment of the divine potential of Guru Vasishta, the great master of Lord Sree Rame. This is one of the rare temples devoid of any other dieties.
Temple Administration
Madambu Elamannu, Chorenchedath, Karolil Elamannu, Chittissery Kaplingatu and Ottumaikkatu Manas had the temple trusteeship. Kunnathur Padinjaredathu Bhattathiri is the Tantri of the temple. The temple attained a provileged postion in the Cochin Devaswom, when Sri Elamanna Krishna Menon was the Devaswom Commissioner. The Cochin Devaswom Board owns the temple and at the advice of the Board Arattupuzha Kshethra Upadeshaka Samithi(Temple welfare Committee) was formed, which acts for the welfare of the temple with the co-operation of the board.
